First, an explanation about the domain name. I originally wanted 99.com. But that was taken. So I went with the roman numeral IX IX instead. Hence ixix.com

This blog is for myself to archive my thoughts on topics like food preservation, water, environment, and finance. I have been keeping notes on paper about these topics. I think cleaning up these notes and adding images and putting them on the web makes more sense. It certainly will help me as I sometimes have a hard time reading my own handwriting. 
Others may find this information helpful as well.
Given the vastness of the internet, I find myself reading from just a handful of sites. Most oil and environment related information I get from The Oil Drum and Chris Martenson. I get financial news from Yahoo News, Bloomberg, Financial Times, and a few blogs like Zero Hedge and Calculated Risk.
